Not everything has to be about competition. We’ve seen months and months of back-and-forth jabs between Microsoft and Sony as we approached the dawn of a new generation of hardware, but sometimes you just have to sit back and congratulate your opponent. Microsoft might be doing everything it can to make the Xbox One the best piece of gaming hardware to ever be released, but the company did find time to pat Sony on the back after its successful launch of the PlayStation 4.
The above image was Tweeted directly from the Xbox Twitter account, along with the message “congrats, PlayStation.” Sure, it’s nothing big, but it’s nice to see a bit of camaraderie from the competing hardware companies. Major Nelson, one of the leading men at the Xbox team, also Tweeted out his congratulations to the Sony team on a successful release.
Next week, it’s Microsoft’s turn. We’ll have to wait and see if Sony is as cordial with its competition when the Xbox One launches Nov. 22.
