Almost a day after releasing, we finally have for you the patch notes for Battlefield 4’s Title Update 12. These notes focus on fixes to game stability. We won’t recount each individual fix since there’s so many, but you can get an idea of what was done below.
In all, there are 18 crash bugs that were acknowledged and fixed with this update, including, distressingly a random bug that would just make the game crash during gameplay. Identified circumstances that also precipitated crash bugs include exiting vehicles, loading levels, transitioning between maps, and so forth. Test Range, Flood Zone, and South China Sea were all identified to have particular bug issues.
After this, the second most important batch of issues were related to network performance. DICE claims they have fixes a network sync bug, as well as circumstance related network lag, and have improved the network smoothing functionality.
DICE also did some gameplay balances, removing the scout helicopter for Siege of Shanghai in Rush Mode, rebalancing Hainan Resort in Rush mode, setting only 1 revive per round Defuse, and removing all C4 and mines after a round of Defuse.
Graphical fixes where connected with Operation Locker, Golmud Railway, Obliteration Mode, Defuse, Spectator Mode and Rush Mode.
Other random issues that don’t fit the above classifications include fixing jitter in the kill camera, making the System Performance Test option work as expected, adding sound to the End of Round screen, adding clickable buttons to in-game Battlelog, and a bug that made EMP last too long on a player.
