Wargaming has announced today that free-to-play MMO title World of Warplanes is available now and you can join a game here.
Victor Kislyi, CEO of Wargaming commented:
"The release of World of Warplanes marks a great moment for Wargaming, and we are extremely excited to offer players the next great chapter in our gaming universe. Just as we did for World of Tanks, we'll continue to grow and evolve World of Warplanes with new content, nations, aircraft and game modes to keep our players fully engaged and always eager to take to the skies."
More than 4.5 million players have joined in during the game's beta phase and Wargaming says this provided the development team with "invaluable feedback" and that helped shape the final product.
World of Warplanes, as part of the Wargaming.net universe, has a number of features in common with World of Tanks, including the launch of the Unified Premium Account system, which will allow players to share premium status benefits between the two games.
World of Warplanes is set during the Golden Age of Aviation and at launch offers 100 vehicles from Germany, the Soviet Union, USA, Japan, and Great Britain.
Each plane features multiple configurations, allowing for customization across weapons, ammo types, engines, and other aircraft components. This means players can create an aircraft capable of taking on any role.
