GTA Online Stimulus Is Now Being Rolled Out

November 6, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

Rockstar is crediting players throughout the day, so wait it out to see when you get your $ 500,000.

GTA Online’s stimulus package is already being rolled out. A fan has revealed that they just received the $ 500,000, clearly received directly from Rockstar.

As a reminder, Rockstar has explained that they are rolling out the stimulus to users individually and not all at once. Therefore, if you are playing the game and have not received your $ 500,000 yet, you have nothing to worry about and you just need to wait it out.

Rockstar promised the stimulus to atone for the spate of problems players dealt with in GTA Online at launch and the days immediately following it. Among those issues, notably, was that players who bought in-game currency using real money lost that save data, in some cases losing that data irretrievably.

The original plan was also to allocate for two payments of $ 250,000 to help balance the in-game economy. However, it later came to light an exploit was already ruining the economy, giving random players billions of dollars to use in-game.

The exploit did not go far enough to affect all players, and this whole time many have still been playing it straight in the game, although it’s likely at this point they may not all be playing it anymore. To those players, the stimulus money is a welcome back invitation. No word when the microtransactions Rockstar had set up for players to buy in-game currency with real money is coming back, if it is at all, but at least for the moment, you can jump back in for a while and live it like a rock star.
