The Nintendo company has been around for years even before hitting the video game market. It’s had plenty of success with a wide variety of video game consoles and software. However, that’s not to say that every video game console was a smash hit. In fact, the previous generation release was anything but a hit. Now that Reggie Fils-Aime is no longer a president for the Nintendo company, he’s been opening up more about his time at Nintendo.
Currently, Reggie Fils-Aime is a speaker and resident for a university. Once the Nintendo of America president, Reggie has become an iconic personality for the Nintendo name. Recently, Reggie had a lecture which was opened to the public and it was during that talk which comments were made about his time at Nintendo.
One user from ResetEra claimed to have been present during the lectured speech in which Reggie commented on the Nintendo Wii U as a resounding failure. This console sold very few units worldwide and didn’t have the third-party support in order to keep the console going strong years after its release. However, on the bright side, this failure did lead to the success of the Nintendo Switch. Now that we’re a few years out from the end of the Nintendo Wii U, how do you view the console looking back?
