GTA 5 Bike Tricks Guide: Riding Miriam Turner’s Overpass And Bridge

November 4, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

Bikes in GTA are magical creatures. Learn how to do tricks that would put Matt Hoffman to shame.

We have a new GTA 5 guide for you explaining how to get up the Miriam Turner overpass on your BMX bike, and onto the suspension bridge. It’s a stunt worthy of Tony Hawk, only it’s on a bicycle and not a skateboard. Actually, the trick is probably completely impossible in real life, but that’s the sort of thing you play GTA for. As always, video is here, and transcription is below.

If you have messed with the bike in the game, you may already know you can pull off a lot of impossible tricks on it, ascending and getting on platforms that would be physically impossible or too life threatening to try in the real world. You will want to go around and look for a relatively short wall on the bridge’s foundations. Wheelie your way up to the wall and you’re well on your way.

Now, on your right you should see a single blue cable connecting upwards to the bridge. You need to make a small jump to get on it. Make sure to line yourself up so that you land perfectly on the cable and can make your way up. Make small adjustments so you stay aligned on the cable and don’t fall off.

Eventually, you will actually get onto the cables supporting the bridge, and these are thicker and have slight guardrails with netting on each side so it’ll be smooth sailing here. Just make sure to hop over the little roadbumps on the way.

Near the top of the bridge are some steps that are a little harder to get through. You need to tap A at a constant pace to keep your stride. You may slow down at some points, but the important thing is you’ll get there.

Take some time to enjoy the view from the top and prepare yourself to take the same path on the other side, but in reverse order, and then back up again towards the next goalpost. This time, the netting can slow you down, trap you and make you fall off your bike, so you’ll have to balance avoiding the roadbumps and staying close to the middle.

However, your biggest concern is keeping control of your speed. After getting past one or two of these goalposts, you will want to brake on the third way down.

Use what you learn here to figure out how to pull off other tricks in Los Santos. Experimentation and playing around is what will help you discover new ways to use your bike.
