One of the most anticipated video game titles coming out in 2020 is CD Projekt Red’s upcoming title Cyberpunk 2077. Coming off the highly successful The Witcher trilogy, most are excited to see just how they developers pull off a futuristic world where players take on the role of a mercenary having to handle tough jobs to make a living. With that said, it’s a game that was not confirmed for the Nintendo Switch platform, but could a port be in the works?
At PAX Australia, CD Projekt Red’s John Mamis who is the head of the Krakow offices was asked about a Nintendo Switch port of the game by GameSpot. After all, The Witcher 3 was ported over to the game platform which John Mamis made mention of it. However, he did state that they haven’t decided if it will be on the Switch platform or if it’s even possible to do so. When it comes to power, the Nintendo Switch does trail behind current-generation platforms so it may be a difficult task bringing the game over to the platform.
Who would have thought a game like The Witcher 3 would be possible on Switch, so who knows? I guess we’ll see if we `decide to put it on the Switch if we can do it. Probably not.
At the moment, CD Projekt Red is planning to bring Cyberpunk 2077 out into the market on April 16, 2020. Currently, the platforms to receive the game is on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia. Perhaps the developers will be able to bring the game out onto the Nintendo Switch platform, but we imagine there would have to be some cuts made to do so. Would you like to Cyberpunk 2077 on the Nintendo Switch?
