Battlefield 4 Grenades Grinding Guide

November 2, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

The best way to earn those grenade unlocks? Using grenades. Learn more in our guide below.

As a follow up to the grenade selection guide we posted yesterday, we have a guide on how to quickly unlock the grenades quickly in Battlefield 4. As usual, we've written down the guide below for your convenience, and you can always choose to watch the video here.

Each grenade unlock requires 3000 points, equivalent to 30 kills. The quickest way to earn those new grenades is to pull off a lot of grenade kills.  Therefore, you should go for maps that are advantageous for grenades.

Also, you should choose Rush mode, which incentivizes players to huddle in groups around encoms or hide behind cover. You can also go for smaller maps with bigger populations. Something like 64 player multiplayer tiny team deathmatches will have plenty of opportunities for high scoring grenade kills.

However, team deathmatch is not a good fit where there are few players. Players are less likely to group together than they would in Rush mode. So you should keep dibs on how many people are logged on before you jump into those deathmatch servers.

Operation Locker is likely the best map for accruing grenade kills. By design, players will group in small rooms or at the end of hallways, irregardless of what mode you play it on. If, for whatever reason, you can’t access large online multiplayer, you can just stick around here.

Depending on what class you have. If you’re not in a rush to get grenades, play for the kit your class earns points for. If you want to get to them sooner, each kit provides different options.

The Offense upgrade path 3 will let you pick up extra grenades at perk level 3. Assault will give you the Grenadier upgrade set, which gives you an extra grenade every time you spawn. Support’s Ammunition box allows you to resupply grenades. However, they won’t go to your default resupply pouch, so you need to unlock the box. Furthermore, some players may not have progressed far enough to use the options for Offense and Support, in which case, just use the other tips here.

Recon has a great option with motion sensor balls, that are unlocked early. If you are in situations where grenade kills will earn more points, however, go for those instead.

Don’t forget; you can pillage dead bodies for grenades so you don’t have to wait for respawns. In general, the M67 and V40 grenades, the two first grenades you can get, are ideal for grinding for higher level grenades.
