When it comes to Bungie, the video game developer may be best known for its work on the Halo franchise and most recently its Destiny IP. Games as a service have been popular lately and with the likes of Destiny 2, the development team is busy with providing new expansions, updates, and tweaks to keep players coming back to enjoy the game for a long haul. However, that doesn’t mean that there is not a push to deliver a new IP down the road.
Apparently, Bungie is planning a new IP right now and its something that will be available in the market back 2025. Now we don’t know anything about this game just yet, but it does paint a nice picture over at Bungie as they expand their team to work on the content not directly related to just the Destiny franchise.
So, by 2025 we have a pretty specific path to make sure we transform Destiny and that we have other franchises within the marketplace.
In a recent interview with Bungie CEO Pete Parsons, IGN learned that there is a strive to keep Destiny going. Over the years, there is work to bring fans down a vision they see the Destiny IP transforming into. Outside of Destiny, other franchises will be in production as at least one will make its way out by 2025.
For now, it’s a guessing game as to what Bungie may bring out into the market next and if it will divert away from what they have previously worked on. As it stands right now, players can enjoy Destiny 2 right now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC platforms.
