Sony has released a story trailer for Media Molecule's PlayStation Vita title Tearaway in which developers Rex, Kenny, and Spaff discuss the game's world, story, and music.
Tearaway sees characters called Messengers whose role is to carry a letter inside their envelope shaped heads. Players take control of one of these Messengers as he or she tries to fulfill a courier assignment and deliver the letter to its recipient.
You are "the person who's holding their whole world in your hands."
Kenny Young, the game's head of audio, reveals that Tearaway has a strong folk influence particularly with regard to how stories change when told from person to person.
Lead creator Rex Crowle says:
"The actual story is all about this character with an envelope shaped head, who has something mysterious trapped inside of it, and their whole reason for existence is they're trying to deliver this message to you, the player, the person who's holding their whole world in their hand."
Tearaway is set for release on November 22nd; and yes, that's the date a certain new console from Microsoft is also coming out.
