Just in time for you know what, Blue Isle Studios and Midnight City have revealed that Slender: The Arrival is now available on Steam. Enter a new world exploring the fakeloric Slenderman mythos, but beware; you better have your running shoes on. And some headphones.
This time, we play Laura, a realtor visiting her friend Kate at home to help sell the property. When she gets there, she finds a puzzling note and not a person in sight. Laura turns her camcorder on as she starts the search for her friend, but she is not aware something is out there, watching her.
And so, in this one you have a HUD of sorts with the camcorder display, and a flashlight on your other hand. The game may have some competent visuals, but it is purposely muddied up so you will have to rely on your ears a bit more than you expected. Maybe a bit more than you wanted. Case in point:
The game boasts a collaboration with the original Slenderman creator, Eric Knudsen, as well as the people behind the YouTube series Marble Hornets. The game has seven levels, which includes extended portions from the initial build, as well as new sections featuring a new servant of the Slenderman.
Slender: The Arrival is now available on Steam, and will be released on consoles in the following year. No promises, but Blue Isle Studios are looking into PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, Linux and mobile.
No need to wait, of course, as Steam is now running a 20% sale for it today until November 4. You can jump over straight to buying and playing it here.
