Surprise! Sony still wants to sell fans on Playstation 3s on the verge of the Playstation 4 launch. These bundles should prove popular, as they involve NHL in Canada and Ayrton Senna in Brazil.
The Canadian bundle is pretty straightforward. Canadians love hockey, and EA’s NHL. They’re getting an NHL 14 bundle with an Azurite (blue) Playstation 3 console, a blue Dualshock 3, and EA Sports’ hockey game, for $ 249.99. The bundle will be exclusive to EB Games at release and available in other retailers by the middle of November.
The Brazilian bundle commemorates the country’s beloved son, Ayrton Senna, and was made in collaboration with the Ayrton Senna Institute. For the uninitiated, Senna is one of motorsports’ all-time greats. He won three Formula One world championships and six Monaco Grand Prix victories. He also set multiple records in F1, such as most pole positions, or consecutive front row starts, and is the 3rd most successful race driver of all time. Senna fans can get an exclusive version of Gran Turismo 6, where they can play through the famed driver’s career via online updates.
Sony did not elaborate on how they donate to the Ayrton Senna Institute, but they have an ongoing relationship with the nonprofit that benefits schoolchildren in Brazil. The institute has paid for the training of 750,000 teachers and the education of 17 million children.
The Gran Turismo Ayrton Senna bundle was announced in the Brazil Game Show presscon this week by series creator Kazunori Yamauchi, and confirmed for Brazil and Latin America. If you are a Senna fan, want to help the charity, or both, you’ll have to wait a little longer for more details.
Gran Turismo 6 will be released December 6 for the Playstation 3.
