Call of Duty: Ghosts Gameplay Launch Trailer Looks Explosive, Bombastic

October 21, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

Infinity Ward and Activision have released a bombastic new trailer of Call of Duty: Ghosts, exposing the game’s action.

Activision and Infinity Ward have put out a brand new trailer of Call of Duty: Ghosts ahead of its release next month. Interestingly enough, the trailer was leaked last night, so you may have already had the opportunity to watch it. In case you haven't, here it is again.

I'll just copy and paste what fellow Gameranx writer Ryan Parreno wrote of the trailer when it was leaked last night:

The trailer is brief and brings us all over the place in the game’s story. The video starts panning on a naval destroyer, getting fiercely attacked, and planes and shrapnel flying all around. We get on top of a helicopter, dog in tow, watching (maybe causing?) the carnage.

The camera shifts rapidly and briefly to inside a building, as a group of the eponymous Ghosts find the floor sliding towards one side, implying the building they’re in is breaking down.

And then we jump again to the cockpit of a fighter, shooting down what appears to be some incendiary oil refineries. The helicopter continues to attack a city, literally tearing the streets apart as a bystander runs away.

In the next jump, we’re with our fellow Ghosts, boarding a train across a bridge off the mountain. The next thing you know, the train has gone off the rails and one of our crew is inching his hands, just before he falls.

And we’ve moved again, gun in hand and making our way across a footbridge while our surroundings become debris and flies around us. We duck as a giant flaming piece of metal makes its way by us.

And then we’re underwater, deep in some trenches, getting a brief glimpse of a whale.

And now we’re deep in the jungles, with fire all around us falling from the sky, as a tree branch gets in the way we transition again.

Now we’re jumping off a building and controlling the slide down a wall.

And then we’re watching tanks go at each other.

And then we get a brief glimpse of some nighttime mission, which looks like some attempt to infiltrate/and or assassinate.

The ad’s last few moments have our loyal dog facing off against a pack of wolves, one of the Ghosts rappelling down a wall, and the game’s opening moments, out at the space station as the initial explosion occurs.

Call of Duty Ghosts is coming for Wii U, Windows, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 5, Playstation 4 on November 15, and Xbox One on November 22.
