Xbox One Headset Adapters Shipping in Early 2014

October 18, 2013 by Andrea Castellano

Xbox One headset adapters allowing voice chat with Xbox 360 headsets, ships in early 2014.

While all Xbox One consoles include a headset for Xbox Live voice chat, the Xbox One headset adapter for existing Xbox 360 headsets, launches in early 2014.

Turtle Beach, manufacturer for surround sound video game headsets, mentioned in a press release that Xbox One headset adapters begin shipping early next year. Turtle Beach, Astro or Tritton owners unfortunately need to wait a while longer to use their Xbox 360 headsets for voice chat on the Xbox One.

According to Turtle Beach, Microsoft develops each adapter and then provides it to companies to include with their headsets.

Astro previously mentioned that due to technical reasons, developing an adapter for Xbox 360 headsets proved impossible. Shortly after Astro's claim, Microsoft announced a separate adapter.

Microsoft did not announce an official price or release date for the adapter, but expect the accessory to launch in the first quarter of 2014.
