Review Roundup: NBA 2K20 Delivers Great On-Court Experience and Stellar My Player Story Mode

September 10, 2019 by Jordan Biazzo

K Games annual release of their NBA franchise is finally here.

2K Games annual release of their NBA franchise is finally here and 2K20 has arrived! Basketball season is almost upon us, but how does the latest sports simulator play? Let’s find out!

We know that creating an annual release of a gaming franchise is hard, there’s not enough time to develop new ideas, and by the time you know it, its time to release the next title in the series. However, 2K Games manages to bring the heat year in and year out when it comes to NBA.

From early critic reviews, it seems that NBA 2K20 is a hit. The gameplay is super slick and the best it has been in the franchise. Another notable attribute for this year’s release is the game’s interactive myplayer story mode, which is apparently really good!

Down below are some of the most respectable gaming sites in the industry, check out the highlights for their reviews on 2K Games latest sports title — NBA 2K20:

Forbes 90

NBA 2K20 delivers the best on-court experience in years, and that carries more weight than any other aspect of the game.

Game Revolution 90

Thankfully for fans, the up-and-down series has largely been a slam dunk this year as its consistently great gameplay is aided by a fantastic story mode and less invasive microtransactions.

IGN 78

NBA 2K20 would have been better off by focusing on its complex modes like MyLeague and cleaning up MyTeam to be less dependent on microtransactions. In spite of that, NBA 2K20 remains the best at what it does. It just might be time to ask for better.

Hardcore Gamer 70

There’s no doubt that the game is fun as the grind and work throughout it gives such a feeling of satisfaction at the end because you battled for that win. Having that broadcast presentation helps with that since after the game there are so many options to do off-the-court management that it keeps the player engaged for some time. The quirks and issues become aggravating over time as you try to get better, but the core feel of the game has felt this way for a while.

NBA 2K20 is now available for the PS4 and Xbox One. Are you ready to hit the court? Let us know in the comments below!
