Pokemon X and Y 6th Generation Pokemon Egg Groups Guide

We have arranged for you a list of Pokemon by Egg Groups for the Generation 6 Pokemon, introduced in Pokemon X and Y.

What are Egg Groups? This is a way of classifying Pokemon, that’s separate from Pokemon Types.  A Pokemon’s Egg Group is determined by what biological traits they have, and a single Pokemon can be part of one or two Egg Groups.

Egg Groups are important for determining how to breed Pokemon, as well as passing over moves across Pokemon generations. The most well known process of passing over moves is using Chain Breeding. In Chain Breeding, the 2^nd generation Pokemon can only learn that move from their parents. In turn, that Pokemon will be able to pass it on to a 3^rd generation. This is a useful technique where the 3^rd generation Pokemon could not learn the move from the 1^st generation Pokemon any other way. Pokemon can also pass any TMs they learn to their offspring. A note about the methodology; no Pokemon has actually been bred yet to get this info. What our source has done is put them in daycare and look up what the husband says.
