Transgender journalist Laura Kate Dale and comedian Fraser Millward reached an understanding following the Eurogamer Expo last weekend and agreed that both sides were at fault.
According to Millward's website the two have come to "agree that the situation which took place at the Xbox stand at Eurogamer on Sunday 29th September was an unfortunate misunderstanding on both sides."
Dale had said Millward referred to her using pronouns including 'he', 'it', and 'thing'. However, in the statement released by both parties Dale is said to have retracted her comments and apologised for what happened. Millward, in turn, has also apologised for his part in the incident.
"Fraser caused offence to Laura on stage when he publicly misgendered her by addressing her as 'this person'. Laura was also upset by statements which she saw as suggesting that she was not female. Fraser is sorry he said this, and for the pain he inadvertently caused Laura. Both parties wish to put the situation behind them and consider this matter now resolved."
Dale had been attending the Eurogamer Expo and was called up on stage by Millward for an Xbox One presentation during the show.
