There were a few announcements this past Tuesday from the monthly Nintendo Direct presentation, but the most exciting part you might have missed. Hidden in the new The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds trailer was a glimpse of the most iconic imagery from Nintendo's follow up to Ocarina of Time, the titular Majora's Mask. An eagle-eyed Tumblr user spotted it and uploaded a screenshot to their blog, which you can see below. Of course, it's probably a mere homage to the recent outpouring of love for the old 64 title, but nonetheless, it instills at least a small bit of hope for this diehard MM fan.
Some new details about A Link Between Worlds was included in the livestream, including the revelation that the 3DS title will have more player freedom than previous titles, allowing the player to purchase weapons and items from a shop as they play to open dungeons in the order they wish, as opposed to the linear dungeon structure from games past.
Also confirmed was Sonic the Hedgehog's place on the roster for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. on Wii U and 3DS. He joins previous new addition Mega Man and old favorite Olimar.
