Fans Are Making A Dino Crisis Remake Through Unreal Engine 4

July 24, 2019 by Dennis Patrick

Tired of waiting for Capcom? Fans are making a push to deliver a new Dino Crisis experience.

Capcom has a nice catalog of IPs that they can go to any given moment. While we’ve seen plenty of work being put towards their Survival Horror franchise, Resident Evil, the same treatment is nowhere to be seen for Dino Crisis. There is a following of the series that’s been hoping the franchise would see some type of resurgence but for years, there is no remake or new installment insight. Now some fans have taken it upon themselves to work on a new video game remake for Dino Crisis and you can get a look at the progress made so far.

The group is going by the name Team Arklay and they are gunning to remake Dino Crisis through the use of Unreal Engine 4. We’ve seen some trailers so far for the game, but don’t expect too much but some of the set locations and atmosphere. These projects are a work of love and are not done full-time by developers so if you’re wanting the game out soon then you’re likely out of luck. Likewise, these works of love are often killed off by the IP owners in this case Capcom.

We’ve been waiting since 2003 for Capcom to make a move so if you’re a fan of the series then you may be rooting for Team Arklay along. Unfortunately, there’s always the chance of the studio getting a word from the lawyers representing Capcom which means this project will not progress any further. With that said, some fans have opted to make their unique video game IP with inspiration from the franchises they had hoped for rather than completing scrapping their project.

Likewise, with all that said, Capcom knows that this game series still has a following and they’ve released a successful hit with the Resident Evil 2 remake. As a result, it’s possible that Capcom may have toyed around with the idea of remaking Dino Crisis for today’s platforms or the upcoming generation of consoles.
