With slightly over 24 hours left on the Kickstarter campaign for the Mega Man spiritual successor Mighty No. 9, its developers at Comcept have announced that the upcoming game is set to be powered by the Unreal Engine from Epic Games.
That means the upcoming title, which now sits at over 3 million in pledges, will be powered by the same engine that powers the graphics in Gears of War, Mass Effect, and Bioshock Infinite.
According to its developers, Mighty No. 9 will have its own "unique graphical style we are going for" so don't expect the game to look anything like the aforementioned titles.
The Kickstarter update reads: "It also means our team can spend less time worrying about technical mumbo-jumbo, and more time focused on things that really matter to a game like this — like the feel of the controls, the style of a character’s animation, the atmosphere of a level, the balance of Beck’s transformations — the important stuff!"
If that wasn't enough, Comcept has prepared a short in-engine test showcasing what the game looks like in its earliest of stages.
