Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is the next installment to the franchise slated for release later this year. However, while the game is not a direct sequel to any past game, the developers over at Infinity Ward opted to make a reboot of the Modern Warfare series. Recently, the developers showed off the Gunfight game mode that focuses on a 2v2 battle. While we’ve already seen this game mode through a Twitch presentation, the developers have recently delivered a 4K gameplay footage which you can check out in full within the video embedded above.
For those who are unaware, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is slated to launch in October of this year. Developed by Infinity Ward, there’s a big desire in delivering not only a fun FPS installment to the long-running franchise but one with a deep narrative story. In the past, the developers had compared this game to the controversial mission from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, No Russian. Within the mission, gamers are undercover and the game allows the execution of innocent civilians at an airport. While we don’t know if this particular situation will come up again in the reboot, it’s that feeling of a heavy emotional response that Infinity Ward is hoping gamers experience when they go through the campaign.
As mentioned, this latest video upload is 4K footage of Gunfight. We’ve previously covered Gunfight in a post last week, but if you missed it, Gunfight is a 2v2 game mode where players have just forty seconds to take out the opposing team. Gamers who are interested in the upcoming installment can pick a copy up on October 25, 2019, for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms.
