Supermassive Games Announce Two New Multiplayer Modes for Man of Medan

July 12, 2019 by Jordan Biazzo

This will bring tons of great fun!

Supermassive is known for their single player narrative story-based games, so when they announced this morning that their upcoming game — Man of Medan will have multiplayer, the internet and myself were surprised!

The two new modes are called Shared Stroy Mode and Movie Night, both will come with their own benefits. Shared Play will be more of a traditional multiplayer as you and one of your friends can go through the game together, playing two different characters. On the other hand, movie nights takes you and four other friends through the game, but each one of your friends will choose one character t play as. Once their turn comes up, you pass over the controller and they are now in control of their character and their own fate.

Check out the Man of Medan multiplayer reveal trailer down below:

Pete Samuels — series director & executive producer at Supermassive Games took to the PlayStation Blog to announce the two new multiplayer modes in more detail, check out some of the interesting bits down below:

… two multiplayer modes for The Dark Pictures Anthology — Shared Story mode and Movie Night mode. In Shared Story you’ll play online with a friend, making choices that affect both of you. We really hope you enjoy the intensity of experiencing the story with a friend… and that you are still friends after!

Man of Medan

In Movie night mode, five people (you and up to four of your friends) can play couch co-op. Each player can enter their name and choose which character (or characters) to play, then simply pass the pad whenever that character is the focus of the game. You can explore, react, and make decisions to keep your character alive and stay in the game. When prompted, simply pass the controller onto the next player so that they can continue with their character. Periodically, the game will present a summary of how each player has played. We were so impressed by the innovative and collaborative ways people played Until Dawn together that we created this feature to help facilitate that way of playing.

Man of Medan is set to release for the PS4, xbox One, and PC on August 30th. Are you excited for the upcoming Supermassive title? Let us know in the comments below!
