According to an anonymous report given to IGN, Nintendo's rumored Wii successor, codenamed Project Café, will be powered by AMD's R700 GPU architecture.
The system is expected to outperform the PlayStation 3's 7800GTX and its CPU is said to be similar to the triple-core IBM PowerPC chipset while sporting a higher clockspeed.
The new system will output 1080p with a possibility for stereoscopic 3D support.
The report also claims that the console will be roughly the same size as the original Xbox 360 and resemble the classic SNES form. The Taiwan-based Foxconn plant is said to be manufacturing the device and that units will be ready to ship this October at a potential price tag of $350 to $400.
Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto refuses to confirm the rumors, though he admitted that "there's no smoke without fire."
