Easily one of the most anticipated video game titles to release in 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 is constantly hitting the headlines online with new updates and announcements. We’re coming off from E3 2019 where the game was highlighted with a brand new trailer and finally a confirmed release date of April 16, 2020. Now that we’re able to mark down on the calendar for when we can hit the marketplace for a copy, the news is already hitting the public about what may possibly come after the game releases. If you can recall back to the last CD Projekt Red video game release, The Witcher 3, then you know that the game had some extensive expansions that came post-launch. This similar DLC release schedule could also come with Cyberpunk 2077.
Prima Games got a chance to speak with UI coordinator Alvin Liu from CD Projekt Red who talked about The Witcher 3 and how the development team may look at the past game for their upcoming release. As mentioned above, The Witcher 3 was a huge hit from the development studio and it was quite long but the development studio really helped add more content for gamers to go through with expansions. Apparently, the development team is also taking on consideration of expansions for the game.
We don’t know just how much the expansions will change the game or if they will be very long like The Witcher 3 but it appears that the development studio is only focusing on expansions after they complete everything. It looks like the game will still be rather full but as Alvin puts it in the chat with Prima Games, CD Projekt Red wants to build open worlds which means that there will be areas in which the studio can go in and further expand areas.
We’ll have to wait and see just what the development studio decides to do with the expansion, but for now, we know that Cyberpunk 2077 will be launching for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms on April 16, 2020. In other news regarding the game, it was unveiled that the title will have multiple endings and that the studio is currently focusing on releasing the game for current generation platforms at the moment.
