CD Projekt Red is a much-beloved video game development studio thanks to the highly successful trilogy of The Witcher. Now that the series has come to an end, the development studio was able to focus on a brand new IP, Cyberpunk 2077. This game has been hyped up since its announcement and ever since E3 2018, the anticipation has grown immensely. Players are eager to get their hands on a copy of the game, but one aspect that still seems to be uncertain for the development team is multiplayer.
For a good while now, CD Projekt Red has been uncertain as to if the video game would even have a multiplayer component. They have repeatedly stated in the past that they were not ruling out on a multiplayer game mode to the title but they were not going to confirm it either. Now that we finally have a release date attached to the game, the development team is still not fully sure if they will include anything more than a single-player experience. Speaking to Eurogamer, lead quest designer Pawel Sasko, stated that the development studio is only focusing on a single-player experience for gamers right now.
Sasko didn’t confirm that the game would not have a multiplayer but it’s certainly not going to have one when it releases. If anything, this game mode may see a release but it’s not going to be until after Cyberpunk 2077 launches. Again, we don’t know just how a multiplayer game mode would work in the game but we’ll just have to wait and see.
In other news, Cyberpunk 2077 was shown off to media outlets during E3 2019 in a private viewing outside of the game trailer shown during the general public. However, it has since been confirmed that the private viewing will be shown off to PAX West. Likewise, you can expect the game to have multiple endings. As for when you can pick up a copy of Cyberpunk 2077, the game will be released on April 16, 2020, for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms.
