Gamers who have downloaded Grand Theft Auto 5 from the PlayStation Network are reporting that texture issues are affecting the digital version of the game.
This is apparantly the same issue which impacts Xbox 360 who attempt to install both discs. Rockstar advised users who were considering doing so against the practice. The developer then announced a workaround which involves using a USB stick.
Reddit users are however saying that the same problems are impacting on the PSN version of the game.
According to one user some of the issues occuring include:
"texture/geometry pop-in at the exact same spots as that 360 video – fence at the pier, plants round the baywatch house(?), etc. Also has very noticeable aliasing, but not sure if that's better on the 360."
The video he's referring to can be seen below which shows the Xbox 360 version being played with both discs installed without the USB workaround.
It seems that, for now at least, if you still haven't bought the game on PS3 you should consider the disc based version until a fix is issued.
Have you been affected by any problems with the downloaded version?
