BioWare Austin's general manager Matthew Bromberg has been named as head of the entire BioWare label by EA, VentureBeat reports.
The position has been left vacent since the departure in 2012 of studio founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk. Bromberg will retain leadership at BioWare Austin but his responsibilities will now also include overseeing BioWare Canada (Edmonton and Montreal), Victory Studio in Los Angeles and Waystone Studio in Redwood City.
Aaryn Flynn of BioWare Canada; Jon Van Cangeham of Victory and Waystone and Jeff Hickman – replacing Bromberg at BioWare Austin will now report to him directly.
Bromberg was formerly CEO and president of eSports company Major League Gaming and joined BioWare last year as the Austin division was revamping Star Wars: The Old Republic following its conversion to free-to-play status.
BioWare is developing a number of titles including a new IP, another Mass Effect, Dragon Age: Inquisition and something related to the Star Wars franchise in addition to The Old Republic.
