Easter Egg May Reveal Next Assassin’s Creed Setting

April 5, 2019 by Dennis Patrick

User finds Easter Egg within The Division 2.

Assassin’s Creed’s latest two installments have been fantastic and well-received by critics along with fans. Development studio Ubisoft has really tweaked the franchise since its humble beginnings but coming into 2019 we knew that the development studio wasn’t going to bring out a new installment to the franchise this year. However, that doesn’t slow down any hype, rumors, and speculation as to what era or location Assassin’s Creed will head to next. If you’re finally through all of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and are waiting to find out what Ubisoft has planned next, this new Easter Egg may prove to be a good insight.

Ubisoft’s latest video game release is The Division 2, another hyped franchise that has finally hit the market and we’re sure that there are plenty of gamers going through the title right now. However, one particular user managed to find an Easter Egg that may relate to the Assassin’s Creed franchise. This user who reported his find on the Assassin’s Creed Wiki Community, AlifMorrisonudin, found an in-game poster within The Division 2 that looks to be within the Viking age.

This poster simply depicts a Viking leader with a staff. However, if you look closely there is a spherical item within the Viking’s hand and that could potentially be the Apple of Eden, a famed item from the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Now, this is simply a poster, there’s no official word that the Assassin’s Creed series would go to the Viking age for the next main installment, but more information prior to The Division 2 release does play off the image.

In the past, there has been artwork released from former Ubisoft artists that show a Viking themed area for Assassin’s Creed. So this could very well be a hint to players of the franchise, though we expect to hear something about the franchise during this year’s E3 expo even if it’s a small teaser. Of course, that is purely speculation so only time will tell if we’ll know anything about the upcoming installment during the next couple months.
