A weapon isn’t just a weapon in Battlefield 4; it’s your best friend. It’s a tool that you have complete and total control over in the fourth entry to the series, as the customization capabilities have been turned up to an intimidating degree this time around. Don’t fear, though – a blog has been posted that details what’s new from DICE’s shooter, as well as the right way to tackle all the shiny gadgets.
The developers have more than tripled the available accessories in Battlefield 4, as well as increased the number of slots where they can be installed. A single weapon can have up to 240,000 variations, and thankfully, a new weapon guide has been added that lets players know exactly what each change is actually doing to the gun on a statistical level. Damage, accuracy, hip fire accuracy, range, and stability can all be monitored, but camouflage will be the best aesthetic method for making your mark online.
Autumn, Desert, Naval, Snow, Urban, and Woodland are the categories, with 16 unique patterns available in each style of camouflage. Players can also look forward to the debut of adaptive camouflage, which changes based on the environment. This can be beneficial for snipers trying to keep a low profile, since these long-rage warriors now have the option of using a 40X zoom scope for picking enemies off from across the map.
Lastly, Battle Pickups have been added to increase each game’s dynamism. Most matches will include one of these powerful weapons that are located in particular sections of the map, and as you’d guess, draw plenty of players to a single location. Whatever armament waits inside will have limited ammo, but its power and game-changing nature is what makes it such an exciting prospect.
That’s all for the new update. What change do you feel will have the greatest impact on this year’s Battlefield 4?
