Former BioWare writer Jennifer Hepler may join the development team of Kickstarter RGP title Ambrov X; if the game's fundraising campaign can reach a $750,000 stretch goal.
According to the press release issued to accompany the announcement Hepler has declared "her intention to join fledgling Cincinnati game developer Loreful in their development of "Ambrov X: A Sime~Gen Roleplaying Game." “Ambrov X” is a science fiction RPG focusing on a future humanity that has split into two separate and symbiotic races, forcing players’ characters to enter a tight, emotional, both predatory and romantic relationship with a single bonded companion character."
Hepler left BioWare last month in part because of a series of death threats but is said to be "looking forward to helping to launch a new generation of RPGs".
She has previously worked on Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age II, and Star Wars: The Old Republic as well as the yet-to-be released Dragon Age: Inquisition.
The game itself is described as follows:
"Ambrov X" is an episodic RPG set in the award-winning Sime~Gen Universe created by Jacqueline Lichtenberg and Jean Lorrah. With "Ambrov X," we aim to create a rich, story-driven experience that delves deep into emotional themes, coupled with breath-taking action and adventure."
Ambrov X is being developed for Windows, Mac, and Linux with iOS, Android, PS4 and Xbox One releases planned in future. The game currently stands at $27,500 and needs $500,000 to enter development – Hepler will come on board at $750,000.
