Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch publisher NAMCO BANDAI has issued a press release confirming that sales of the JRPG title have now reached 1.4 million units.
The figure includes worldwide sales of Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, released for PlayStation 3 as well as Japan only sales of its Nintendo DS counterpart.
Olivier Comte, Senior Vice-President of NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe commented that, "We are very proud to join our partner, LEVEL-5, to announce that the critically acclaimed role-playing game series, Ni no Kuni, has approximately reached 1.4 million units sold worldwide.
"The franchise has been very well received in EMEA and as a result of its quality, has reached an amazing number of sales for a JRPG," he added.
The game topped the UK charts when it was released in January. In our review of the title; we said the game failed to achieve all that it might have because of annoying difficulty spikes and cheap boss fights. Even so, given the success of the game it seems likely that Ni no Kuni may see a sequel.
