Dragon Ball FighterZ is a fantastic game if you enjoy the Dragon Ball based fighting titles. This game offers a nice range of characters to fight as and as time went on we’ve seen more fighters get added into the game. However, it seems that the development team is adding plenty of Goku variations and we’re apparently getting yet another one. This is not confirmed yet but a blog reported that a young version of Goku will be added next as a DLC character addition. There are some oddities to this character however and we’re going to get into them.
Goku is arguably the leading protagonist in the entire franchise. He’s the one that ends up saving the day for the most part and as such, you can be sure that the character will be present in various video game releases. However, we’ve got a ton of Goku’s available already within the game and that ranges from his various power-ups to fusions. But if a new rumored report is to be believed, development team Arc System Works is bringing in the young Goku model used for Dragon Ball GT. This is a bit odd because for one we have plenty of Goku already in the game, but mainly, Dragon Ball GT is not considered canon.
After Dragon Ball Z ended, Dragon Ball GT was created and for the most part, failed to capture the fun and amusement of the original series. As a result, Dragon Ball Super came in and essentially made Dragon Ball GT a “what if” kind of series. So adding a character from the franchise would be a bit unusual. We’re not confirming or denying anything at the moment, but we’re just pointing out some of the facts with the main franchise and where the game sits right now with the character roster.
For now, we’ll have to wait and see what the official announcement is in regards to the game and its potential future DLC characters. As of right now, Dragon Ball FighterZ is available for the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch platforms.
