Total War: Rome 2 is out, and like its predecessors, the game is far from being as seamless an experience as it ought to be. Total War: Rome 2 is the latest title in the Total War franchise and is set in classical antiquity like its name suggests.
Though far from unpolished, the game has a number of performance-related issues that appear to be only solvable once the game's developers at Creative Assembly release a patch and not before.

Q: Steam wont unpack the game, and I can't play it!
A: Restart Steam. This should allow the game to automatically unpack.
Q: I can't find out how to download the free Greek States DLC. Where is it?
A: If you pre-ordered Rome 2 on Steam, the Greek States DLC will be automatically installed with the game. If you bought it from an online or physical retailer, the key will be attached separately. Simply register the key on Steam and it'll show up in-game.
Q: How can I improve performance? The game runs sluggishly on my PC!
A: Run the game on any one of the default settings but remember to disable Vegetation Alpha and Depth of Field for a tremendous boost in performance.
