Since player choice alters the story in many BioWare titles, BioWare wants to provide players with an alternative to transferring their Dragon Age saves in time for Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Using Dragon Age Keep, players can customize the historical events of past games and choose which companions they carried throughout the game. Players who corrupted or lost their save can still alter the save options to import a unique world into Dragon Age: Inquisition.
To clarify, players won't actually take their Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2 saves into Inquisition. As an alternative, think of Dragon Age Keep as a questionnaire filled out based on what you remember from both Dragon Age titles. Players will need to accurately recreate their world and story events answering questions based on memory.
As for actually transferring saves, BioWare will continue "to investigate ways in which save files from previous games could be used to populate the initial world state of the Dragon Age Keep."
To see the extent of the save creation feature, you can sign up for the Dragon Age Keep beta beginning today.
