We’re gearing up the release of a Microsoft exclusive video game and a third installment to a franchise that’s been around since the early years of the Xbox 360. Crackdown 3 is gearing up for a release next week and as we inch closer and closer to that launch date gamers who may not have tried the previous games may be swayed to give this third installment an honest go. However, there’s also a good chance that some may ditch the third installment due to not having tried the previous two releases. Luckily Microsoft is offering a nice incentive to give Crackdown 3 a purchase upon release but giving players the ability to enjoy the very first title.
Crackdown originally released in 2007 and today we’re learning that Microsoft has made the game completely for free digitally for both Xbox 360 and Xbox One platforms. Announced via Major Nelson’s blog, Microsoft is giving away Crackdown on Xbox Live but there is no clear indication as to how long this offer will be available. At any rate, this offer is available due to the launch of Crackdown 3 so players may get a small glimpse into what players can expect when the new upcoming installment finally launches on February 15, 2019.
Currently, only the first installment is being offered for free so for those who are looking to enjoy the second installment will have to make the purchase. For now, we can continue to countdown the days left before Crackdown 3 is finally available for both the Xbox One and PC platforms. The game will once again follow the agency as the battle a new terrorist organization. Since fans of the franchise have been waiting for years since the release of Crackdown 2 for this installment, plenty of hype has been building in what Microsoft is hoping will be a successful release.
