A few hours ago, the Xbox reddit lit up when a redditor shared a pic of a white Xbox One straight out of a corporate email, to be given out to Microsoft employees. This matches a picture leaked a month ago of another white Xbox One they shared to developers.
Microsoft employees are in for quite a treat, as the console comes with 1 year of Xbox Live, all the first party games, and an achievement for getting the console. Best of all, all of this comes free.
Other redditors have pointed out conditions laid out to employees in the fine print below. IEB FTEs refer to interactive entertainment business full time employees. They also have to have been working for Microsoft since July 12 of this year at the latest, and are still working for Microsoft come launch day.
If you take a close look at the picture as well, there are engravings on the gray right hand side of the console that say:
I MADE THIS
LAUNCH CONSOLE
Notably, the controller gets a white skin, but still has black accents , sticks and buttons. Kinect also remains black.
The white Xbox One apparently given out to developers (presumably the ones working on titles for the last two years) is much more barebone, with a pure white coat of paint, and no logo or indicator that it actually is an Xbox One. Some people doubt its veracity, but this pic came from XboxOneDev, the same redditor who did an IAmA, and is mostly trusted to be an actual dev in spite of his/her anonymity.
No word if or when Microsoft plans to release this to consumers. If they were planning to hold out, they will want to change their mind on that too.
