Capybara Games, the developers behind games like Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP and the recently announced Below, took to their official website to explain the exclusivity of Below on Xbox One.
Although Phil Spencer announced Below on the Xbox One stage, Below will not remain entirely exclusive on the platform. Like many downloadable titles part of promotions or products of partnerships with Microsoft, after a period of time, Below will launch on other platforms.
To provide some examples, Xbox Live Arcade titles like Fez stayed exclusive to the Xbox 360 before launching on PC a year later.
The team at Capybara didn't reveal the length of this exclusive period or specify which platforms the game will launch on, but the eventual multiplatform release will benefit those who can't afford to buy the Xbox One or those not interested in the console.
The Xbox One will launch this November for $499.
