Trion Worlds is shuttering its San Diego, Calif.-based studio today, relocating the operations of two of its games, Defiance and End of Nations, to its headquarters in Redwood City.
The publisher made the confirmation to Polygon today, with an official statement that reads as follows:
"We can confirm that the San Diego studio will be closing. The day to day operations of Defiance will be moved to our Redwood City studio where it can be managed alongside Rift and our other in-development titles including ArcheAge and End of Nations. As part of this transition, we are working hard to ensure that a number of great people will be making the move from San Diego to the Bay Area and continue their work at Trion."
Trion announced earlier this year that they were transitioning End of Nations from a massively multiplayer online real-time strategy game to a MOBA. It remains to be seen what will happen to the game given its apparent lack of focus.
