Yesterday it emerged that Xbox One owners will require a Gold account for services such as game recording and streaming. Today however, Sony has confirmed that PS4 owners will not require a PS Plus account to avail of these features on the console.
Asked on Twitter whether Plus was required Sony's Worldwide Studios' president Shuhei Yoshida simply answered "no".

Microsoft revealed that an Xbox Live Gold subscription would be required to avail of game DVR features on Xbox One on the company's website where they listed the differences between a Gold account on Xbox 360 and on Xbox One.
Skype is also behind the Xbox One's Gold paywall though interestingly enough can be used for free on PlayStation Vita. Other Gold-exclusive Xbox One features include 'OneGuide' a system which details what's on TV and popular with the Xbox Live community.
Game recording on Xbox One is set to 720p at 30 FPS. The Xbox One can record up to five minutes of gameplay footage while the PS4 may be able to record as much as 15.
In the latest U-turn to hit the Xbox One, the console will now include a headset in both the standard and Day One editions of the console.
Both the PS4 and the Xbox One are set for release later this year.
