The folks at 4J Studios have been hard at work on porting Minecraft updates to the Xbox 360. Today, they have announced that they have made a breakthrough in their development of Title Update 12 (TU12), which they are just now finishing up on.
"Finishing up on TU12 now – hope to be in Cert Test later this week," they wrote on their official Twitter account. "Will be revealing the first Mash-up Pack soon after that!"
What this means is that they'll be sending the game's new version over to Microsoft for certification and should it pass certification, it could be available to gamers as early as next week.
As for mash-up packs, those are the game's new total conversion packages which allow players to convert everything from the textures and skins to user interface, music, and have themed worlds. In other words, it makes Minecraft look like another game.
We'll post details of the first TU12 Mash-Up Pack once that information becomes available.
