Despite heading into the MMORPG realm, Elder Scrolls Online will still try to retain all of the things that people loved about games like Oblivion and Skyrim. CVG discuss some large parts of Elder Scrolls Online, specifically in regards to gameplay and character creation.
Before exploring the lands to kill monsters or run through caves to find better equipment, you must first create your character. In addition to the typical things found in character creators like height, race and facial features, players can customize the appearance of things like the character's neck, waist, feet, arm size, etc.
To adjust the body parts, players will tinker with sliders instead of preset sizes. With the different dimensions, armor should expand or shrink to fit the varying sizes. The adaptive armor will avoid the awkward appearance of body parts not properly fitting the character, causing the character model to peek through. Players will find the similar sliders for facial features, which should make everyone's character unique in appearance.
The video also shows off some new gameplay in areas of previous Elder Scrolls titles and areas from the always snowy Skyrim. Eventually the video cuts to a cave where the player fends off enemies using melee weapons and magic. If you look closely, you will notice the player's hammer engulfed by electricity.
Elder Scrolls Online should release sometime in 2014.
