Just 80 People Are Developing The Order: 1886

July 29, 2013 by Stephen Daly

Less than 100 people make up the game’s dev team.

How many people does it take to make a AAA next-gen title? Hundreds, thousands? In the case of PS4 exclusive The Order: 1886 from Ready at Dawn the answer is just 80.

While as many as 11 studios and possibly 1,000 developers are working on Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag the Daxter and God of War PSP studio has less than 100 people working on the game.

The size of the Ready at Dawn team was revealed during a presentation at computer graphics conference SIGGRAPH. For those looking to check out the tech details have a look at the video above. Notabley, the games uses an in-house engine.

The Order: 1886 is an alternative history game set in London and is Ready at Dawn's first ever new IP. You can check out the game's reveal trailer from E3 last month here.

Ru Weerasuriya, Ready at Dawn's president, has said there are "very, very cool" gameplay features in the "filmic experience" that is The Order: 1886.
