Famitsu has new screens and information on GTA V, and we can share some of these fresh new details with you courtesy redditor tensaibaka:
Described as the largest open world in the history of the series, Famitsu hypes up GTA V's new system involving switching around the three main characters, Michael (who is good at gunfights), Trevor (a good pilot) and Franklin (who can drive vehicles). Famitsu points out, interestingly enoough, that the number of players has not been confirmed.
Famitsu describes Los Santos, the game's backdrop, and the different locations where the characters live and the different game scenarios play themselves out. Rockford Hills is a posh high-class area, South Los Santos is where immigrants live and gang wars are rampant, and Blain County, Sandy Shores, the outskirts of town where its crazier inhabitants reside. These pages also introduce characters we already know about from before, Jimmy and Tracy, Lamar, and Nervous Ron.
Finally, Famitsu's exclusives come down to the vehicles. They show you are able to commandeer several airplanes, including fighters, helicopters and commerical planes. Available cars include a conventional sports car and what appears to be a barebones dune buggy. You can also use bikes, trucks, jeeps and even a submarine.
it's interesting to read how Famitsu is hyping up GTA to Japanese audiences, who as a general rule, do not take well to Western games and their conventions. Less emphasis is placed on the story and trying to draw Japanese fans that way. Instead, they talk up the game as a game, with the different locations talked about more as game scenarios than story backdrops and vehicles being the highlight of their coverage.
The Last Of Us was a recent surprise hit in the Japanese sales charts, so that might bode well for this game. Check out more of the scans below.
