Even if your desire to be the very best and train every single Pokémon that will fit in a ball is long gone, the buzz surrounding the upcoming Pokémon X and Y is really something special. The 3DS games will not only feature a slew of new battlers and a fresh region to explore, but they’ll also be presented in fully polygonal 3D graphics. That’s a first for this legendary handheld franchise, yet the games aren’t the only way you’ll be able to enjoy all the nostalgic wonder. A TV show featuring everyone’s favorite trainer, Ash, and his likely unbeatable Pikachu will also display the new creatures and features to the colorful universe, and a new poster has been discovered promoting the project.
The three new starter Pokémon are prominently displayed on the poster, with what looks to be another professor smiling in the background. A bunch of Japanese text is also featured, but it's really up to you to try to translate the message. The trailer itself is also in Japanese, so all we can really tell you is that Ash is excited to be in this new region full of gym badges to collect and rivals to make.
Pokémon X and Y on the 3DS will be available worldwide Oct. 12, but it’ll take a little bit longer to actually see the anime out in the wild. Expect the first episode to premier sometime in 2014, but for now, let’s just enjoy some of the legendary Pokémon we’ll be able to catch and train when the games launch.
