Over on the PlayStation Blog Worms developer Team 17 has announced that Worms Revolution Extreme is set to be released on PS Vita sometime in the third quarter of this year.
Team 17's Bethany Aston revealed that the game will make use of the Vita's touchscreen capabilities with players being able to use the front pad to select items and zoom the camera. You'll also be able to aim weapons using the rear touch pad.
Worms Revolution Extreme will feature an "extensive single plater campaign spanning 47 missions and 25 puzzles" for players to overcome. Amongst the environments on offer are Sewer, Farmyard, Spooky, Beach, Mars, Funfair and Medieval.
"Worms has always been great with friends, or enemies! With Worms Revolution Extreme that's no different as you're able to tkae part in local or online multiplayer battles for up to four players! Choose from one of three game modes: Deathmatch, Forts and Classic and get firing those Bazookas!"
Come to both the Vita and PS3 version of Worms is the Cross-Gifting feature Treasure Mode. "This all new mode enables you to like up with your friends who have a PS3 system (or vice versa). You can help each other unlock 10 special gifts using a lock and key system."
To do this, you'll need to meet certain requirements in either offline Versus or online battle modes to recieve a key which you can yse to connect to a friend's PS3 in order to unlock your treasure.
