Windows 7 Bug Slicing Cutscenes in Half, Get Your Fix Here

July 18, 2013 by Josiah Renaudin

The latest Windows 7 update is causing major issues in PC games.

Not all updates make gaming experiences better. If you’re a PlayStation 3 owner who hops online as soon as Sony releases a new piece of firmware, you have to know at this point that you’re playing with fire. The same thing goes for Windows, as a new update to Windows 7 has resulted in a bug that’s slicing video-game cutscenes right in half.

What does that even mean? The above screen should be a pretty good indication. A user on Reddit first submitted his issue to the thousands of active PC pros, and as you’d guess, got an answer pretty quickly on both the cause of the bug and how to resolve it. If you happen to have this exact issue and are sick of watching these sliced-up scenes, here’s what you need to do:

 1) Start 2) Type in Add Remove 3) Click Add or Remove Programs 4) Click "view installed updates" 5) Type in "kb2803821" in the search 6) Uninstall the item that comes up. 7) Reboot

Many of the users in this particular post agree that this will fix any sort of rendering problem you’re currently experiencing. If it doesn’t do the job, it wouldn’t hurt to continue browsing the thread for the answers you’re searching for.
