When Mad Max was first announced at E3 2013 during Sony's conference, many expected the trailer presenting the game to be a reveal of Fallout 4. Much to our collective dismay, the game presented was none other than Mad Max from Avalanche Studios—a game that no one, myself included, saw coming.
That being said, once the disappointment let up, it occured to me that the studio developing the game was the same one responsible for Just Cause and its great sequel. In consideration, the thought of playing an open world game with tons of freedom like Just Cause 2 in a post-apocalyptic setting is nothing short of awesome.
With that in mind, Avalanche Studios has just announced that they plan to do a gameplay video reveal (the trailer first showcasing the game was nothing more than a cinematic) this coming Monday, July 15. That's tomorrow.
Mad Max is slated for a 2014 release on the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as well as current-gen console platforms excluding the Wii U. It may not be Fallout 4, but it's certainly the next best thing.
