Killzone: Shadow Fall isn’t just another brown-and-gray shooter. What we saw during the PlayStation 4 reveal helped to show the world that Guerilla Games and Sony are ready to push this franchise to a new level on next-generation technology, but unless you were actually on the floor at this year’s E3, you didn’t get a real chance to experience everything this blockbuster has to offer to both fans and those who haven’t had a chance to jump into the Helghast war. Thankfully, Sony has decided to release 8 minutes of direct-feed gameplay of Shadow Fall from E3, showcasing both the more colorful world and what the moment-to-moment action will look like in your home.
By no means is Killzone: Shadow Fall an open-world game, but the above video does present a few of the greater traversal options you’ll have in Sony’s shooter. Players will be able to travel long distances with the help of an airborne, cybernetic companion, as well as use distraction techniques to get the jump on the clever AI. All of that, plus the new weapons that will be at your disposal, can be witnessed in the HD video that Sony is letting its fans see.
If you’re interested in the new setting and story that Guerilla Games has created, you can pre-order the game and receive a slew of bonuses right now. The actors that will be portraying the characters were also just released, showcasing the talent Sony is bringing in for this 2013 launch title.
