In a Q&A blog post on Rockstar's website the developers have revealed some new information about Grand Theft Auto 5 which is set to be released for PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17th.
Rockstar announced that the Xbox 360 version of the game will come on two discs the first of which will have 8GB of mandatory installation data. The second disc will be used to actually play the game.
"This initial install will require an Xbox 360 Hard Drive or an external 16GB USB flash drive with at least 8GB of free space," the blog reads. "If using a USB flash dirve it must be at least USB 2.0 with a minimum 15mb/s read speed and formatted for Xbox 360 use. A new USB flash drive is recommended to ensure optimum performance."
Those with a 4GB Xbox 360 will have to use a flash drive. The PlayStation 3 version of the game will come on a single Blu-ray disc but you'll still have to install 8GB of data.
Grand Theft Auto Online, the game's multiplayer, will be included on the discs but appears to be a separate entity to the single player experience and more details will be released over the summer.
Rockstar did not provide any details of a PC or next-gen console version of the game which is expected to sell 18 million units in its first year.
Weapons and vehicles are described as "very customizable," and Rockstar added that the game's three protagonists cannot be permanently killed if you find them while playing as another character.
"You'll certainly be able to hang out with them, annoy them should you choose, and maybe even assault them, but you won't be able to kill them. They all have remarkable powers of recovery and good health insurance," the post comments.
