The Earth Defense Force series ups the scale once again in the monster slaying third-person shooter, Earth Defense Force 2025. Not many people know of the Japanese developed shooter, but those who enjoyed it quickly became part of a small cult following.
In the latest batch of screenshots (courtesy of AllGamesBeta) players can get a glimpse of the giant mechs, giant spiders and fire breathing dragons featured in the game. In the screenshots the mech displays all of its weapons and abilities as it kills incoming enemy insects.
To feed your phobia of spiders, developers Sandlot oversized some tarantulas and included some extra hair to make your own hair stand on end. To further disgust the player, the screenshots show smaller (but still uncomfortably large) spiders assisting the large tarantulas while wandering the spider web filled streets.
Since realism doesn't matter, why not throw in some fire breathing dragons to bring just slightly more variety to the enemies. To stay at parity with the dragon, players will jetpack into the sky because everything is better with jetpacks.
Earth Defense Force 2025 will launch February 2014.
